I can only echo this praise of Justice Thomas' unflinching originalism. If we set aside foreign policy for the moment, then I can think of no better reason for a conservative or a libertarian to have voted for Bush in 2000 or in 2004 than Bush's promise to appoint a justice like Thomas or Scalia.
