From 1932:
I read recently of an ingenious plan put forward by Russian engineers, for making the White Sea and the northern coasts of Siberia warm, by putting a dam across the Kara Sea.
I wonder whatever happened to that plan. Is it obviously wrong or infeasible in hindsight? Was the dam to go merely across the Kara Strait, or was the plan to build a ~500km dam across the Kara Sea?
